hola!

I have divided the following figure into two rectangular shapes.
[ refer the attachment. ]

We know,
Area of rectangle = length × width

For first rectangle:
→ length = 8 in.
→ width = 6 in.

Thus,
Area = 8 in. × 6 in. = 48 in² ----(i)

For second rectangle:
→ length = 10 in.
→ width = 3 in.

Thus,
Area = 10 in. × 3 in. = 30 in² ----(ii)

Combining the results got from (i) and (ii)

Area of complete figure = 48 in² + 30 in² = 78 in²
