The wood is 10/12 yard long.

She used 3/4 of the wood:
[tex] \dfrac{3}{4} \times \dfrac{10}{12} [/tex]

[tex] \dfrac{3}{4} \times \dfrac{2 \times 5}{3 \times 4} [/tex]

[tex] \dfrac{3}{8} \text { yard}[/tex]

Calculate yards left:

[tex] \dfrac{10}{12} - \dfrac{3}{8} [/tex]

[tex]= \dfrac{20}{24} - \dfrac{9}{24}[/tex]

[tex]= \dfrac{11}{24} \text { yard left}[/tex]
