17 goats are in the barn and 8 go outside. Count how many you have left. 9 :)

if you don't understand the text or problem look for key words that will help you find if it's subtraction addition etc... so some key words would be go and still when you hear go too I think leave, isn't there anymore, take away so that's subtraction. 17 - 8 = 9
