Buddha's first dharma talk covers the four noble truths and the eightfold path.
The four noble truths are:
1) life has inevitable suffering
2) there is a cause to our suffering
3) there is an end to our suffering
4) the end of suffering is found in the eight fold path
The eight fold paths are
1) right understanding
2) right thought
3) right speech
4) right action
5) right livelihood
6) right effort
7) right mindfulness
8) right concentration
