What is 14=9-x I am trying to solve it

14 = 9 - x

First, subtract 9 from both sides.

14 - 9 = (9 - 9) - x
5 = -x

Now divide both sides by -1.
5/-1 = -1/-1x
-5 = x

The answer is x = -5.
