Genetically altered crops for pest resistance are beneficial to the economy by: reducing the cost of buying pesticides by farmers, aside from being pest resistant, it can also be resistant to wind and rain damages as its genes are already altered, lesser soil and water pollution as pesticides can sometimes contaminate the soil and water through leaching.
