Complementary proteins increase the efficiency of the antibodies. The antibodies bind to the foreign materials called as antigens. Complementary proteins do not do so. Rather, they act on the antibody-antigen complex and activated by the complex. They act up on the same and leads to the killing of the antigen. They are produced in the liver and antibodies are produced by WBCs.
