What happens to hemoglobin's affinity for oxygen when levels of co2 increase?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that as CO2 levels increase, haemoglobin's affinity for oxygen decreases.

When CO2 levels decrease, haemoglobin's affinity for O2 increases, so I assume it reverses
