The side splitter theorem states that if a line is parallel to one side of a triangle and intersects the other two sides, it divides both sides proportionally.

This above theorem holds in the question, hence we solve as follow

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{11}{x}=\frac{5}{10} \\ \text{cross multiply} \\ 5x=110 \\ Divide\text{ both sides by 5} \\ x=\frac{110}{5} \\ x=22 \\ \end{gathered}[/tex]
