Distance Between Two Points
We are given two points on the graph attached to the question.
The red point has coordinates (7,3) and the origin is at (0,0)
I'll work out the graph to show the required distance.
The required distance (in the red drawing) is the hypotenuse of a right triangle of lengths 7 and 3, thus the distance is calculated as:
[tex]d=\sqrt[]{7^2+3^2}=\sqrt[]{49+9}=\sqrt[]{58}[/tex]
Calculating, we get d is approximately 7.62
