16x²- 40x - 24 = 0
we can simplify it dividing by 4
4x²- 10x - 6 = 0
And now we can use the quadratic equation, this way:

x = 10 +/- (√100 - -96)/8
x = 10 +/- √196/8
x = 10 +/- 14/8
x1 = 10 + 14/8 = 24/8
