The equation that we have is:

[tex]x^2+2=38[/tex]

now remember that for using the root property we need to have the x^2 alone, so we pass the 2 to the right side.

[tex]\begin{gathered} x^2=38-2 \\ x^2=36 \end{gathered}[/tex]

now we can apply the root in the two sides of the equation:

[tex]\sqrt[]{x^2}=\sqrt[]{36}[/tex]

and the exponent 2 is going to be cancel with the root, and the root of 36 is equal to 6.

[tex]x=6[/tex]
