Simplify the expression by using identities of trigonometry.

[tex]\begin{gathered} \cos 2A+1=\cos ^2A-\sin ^2A+(\cos ^2A+\sin ^2A) \\ =2\cos ^2A \end{gathered}[/tex]

So answer is,

[tex]2\cos ^2A[/tex]
