We can find the slope using the following equation:

in this case, we have the following:

[tex]\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(-3,-8) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(4,6) \\ \Rightarrow m=\frac{6-(-8)}{4-(-3)}=\frac{6+8}{4+3}=\frac{14}{7}=2 \\ m=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

therefore, the slope of the line is m = 2
