can someone please explain to me how a fictional story could change history? i will up vote.

A fictional story can have real meanings behind them in the time period (through metaphors and just the story). They can also change a whole generation. For example when Star Wars came out it pretty much changed everyone by the movies, toys, games, etc. Hope this helped!
