First population count was undertaken in 1911 in Nepal. Four censuses before the 1952/54 census are known as “head counts”. After 1961, a census has been taken in every ten years.
The first census was carried out in Nepal in 1968 BS(1911 AD).In every 10 years census is conducted.Recent census was conducted in 2068 B.S(2011 A.D) and is 11 th census of Nepal.
