Explain how intermolecular attractions generally affect substances' boiling and freezing points

The intermolecular forces of attraction determine how strong the bond is between molecules in a substance/material. Stronger forces require more energy(heat) to break apart and so have higher boiling points and freezing points (i can explain why further if u ask). Conversely, substances with weak attraction will have low boiling points and even lower freezing points (easy to boil, hard to freeze.
