In chapter 11 and 12 Brian becomes more confident in his ability to surviving due to the fact that he is more acknowledged on how he can survive in the woods. Also he so knows that if he doesn’t learn to survive he will die therefore he’s confident to surviving in the wood then before in the beginning that he knew he might die.
