The answer is false.


Lone pairs only affect molecular geometry if they are on the surrounding (B) atoms. A lone pair of electrons affects molecular geometry the same way another bond would: this is why ammonia has a tetrahedral structure. Lone pairs only affect molecular geometry if they are on the central (A) atoms.
