The sum of two numbers is 150. The ratio of the same two numbers is 3:2. Find the bigger number. Please show work and explain. (:

Well we have 3x which is the bigger number.
We also have 2x which is the smaller number.
So > 3x + 2x = 150 > 5x = 150 > We would divide by 5 > x = 30 > 3x = 3 * 30 = 90 which means that 90 is the bigger number :).
