You have to make 1/6 and 3/8 have the same common denominator so in order to do that u have to make each denominator 48 since that’s the LCD. You then have to multiply by each number whatever it needs to get 48 on the bottom.
1/6 x 8 =8/48
3/8 x 6 =18/48
