Simple...

remember isolate the variable...

x+5y=12

x+5y=12
-x

5y=12-x

Now divide y 5....

[tex] \frac{5y}{5} = -\frac{x}{5} + \frac{12}{5} [/tex]

The y-intercept would be....

[tex] \frac{12}{5} [/tex]

Thus, your answer.
