Answer:

The square root is the number that is multiplied by itself to make the number.

For example to work out the square root of 144. you would need to find a number that when squared is equal to 144, which is 12.

1) Find the number that when squared makes the square root number.

[tex]\sqrt{144}[/tex]

[tex]12*12=144[/tex]

[tex]12^{2} =144[/tex]
