Calculate the number of mols that corresponds to 14 grams of CO.

Molar mass of CO = 12 + 16 = 28 g/mol

Then number of mols = mass / molar mass = 14 g / 28 g/mol = 0.5 mol.

Heat released = 0.5 mol * 67.6 cal/mol = 33.8 kcal.
