parallel means that they have the same slope so the slope = - coefficient x / coefficient y
so,, m= -2/5
from the general equation of the line y=mx + c
we get y= -2/5 + c
and since the line pa through the point (5,-4) ,,we can substitute by it in the line equation to get the constant c
,, -4 = -2/5(5) + c
c= -2 ,, so the equation is y = -2/5x -2 ,, by multiple it by 5
so ,, 5y +2x = -10
