Answer:  Frederick Douglass had the courage to run away and be punished if needed.  He was stubborn, had a strong will about him, and he did not ever give up on anything or anyone.  He was not only a crusader, but wanted the things in life that others take for granted.  He wanted to have a free life, get an education, and most of all, he wanted to be happy.
