Explain why are we able to use water displacement to find the volume of the irregular objects in cm3.

Displacement occurs when an object is immersed in fluid, pushing it out of the way and taking its place. The volume of the object then can be measured by subtracting the fluid without the object from fluid with the object. The amount which the liquid rises in the cylinder is equal to the volume of the object.
