Speed=distance/time
S=2/3 mile /8 minutes=1/12 miles/minute

Time=distance /Speed:

Data:
Speed=1/12 miles/ minute
distance=1 mile

Time=1 mile / (1/12 miles/minute)=12 minutes


Answer: 12 minutes.


other method.
By the rule of three:

2/3 miles--------------8 minutes
1 mile-------------------x

x=(1 mile * 8 minutes) /(2/3 miles)=12 minutes.

Answer: 12 minutes.
