Kazakhstan is a hotbed of oil and mineral resources. It exports many millions of barrels of oil a year and is one of the top producers of a variety of mineral resources including bauxite.
However, Kazakhstan is also plagued by corruption and the people do not often benefit from their countries rich resource reserves.
