Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:  x = -1, 12

Discussion:

I will assume the problem means to solve for x in

11/(3x) - 1/3 = -4/ (x^2)

Multiply both sides by 3

11/x - 1  = (-4 *3)/ x^2

Multiple both sides by x^2

(11/x) * x^2 - x^2 = ((-12)/ x^2)   * x^2  or

11x - x^2 = -12. Rearrange to get

x^2 - 11x - 12 = 0.  Factor this equation:

(x-12) (x +1)  = 0

so the roots are x = -1, 12

Thank you,

MrB
