[tex]2(x+5)^{3/4} = 128[/tex]  Divide 2 on both sides

[tex](x+5)^{3/4}=64[/tex]   Multiply an exponent of 4/3 on both sides

[tex]((x+5)^{3/4})^{4/3}=(64)^{4/3}[/tex]

x + 5 = 256     Subtract 5 on both sides

x = 251
