S= 262.5÷ 3.5 = 75 mph

This is a simple velocity question.

Keep in mind that: (distance/time)=velocity.

So, we can write a very simple equation:

(262.5/3.5)=Speed/Velocity

Dividing, we find out that the car's average speed is 75 miles per hour.
