A decimal that represents $1 and 5 quarters is $2.25 because 4 quarters = 1 dollar, so you would convert the quarters to dollars. Then you have 25 cents leftover so you would add the 25 cents to the $2 you got by adding $1 + $1. Add 0.25 to 2 and you get $2.25. Hope this helps!
