If there are 16 ounces in a pound and a baby weighs 10 pounds how many punces does the baby weigh

Hey there,

So we know that 16oz=1lb

So know we need to set up a ratio that will give us the right answer:

[tex] \frac{16}{1} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{x}{10} [/tex]

Now we have to cross multiply: 

16 * 10= 160
 
now we have to divide it by the left over coefficient:

160/1= 160

This means that the baby weighs 160oz or in other words 10lbs
